I am an art director/motion graphics designer working and living in San Francisco.
I started off shading within the lines of my Star Wars coloring books, taking traditional art classes in high school, and then studying design at UCLA (B.A. Design ‘01).
I have over seven years of experience working on motion graphics, user interface, and identity projects for large and small clients in industries such as broadcast, medical, retail, consumer electronics, software, gaming, and technology.
My job can be described as a problem solver and a storyteller. At the start of every single project there are two questions I always ask myself- ‘What problem am I trying to solve?’ and ‘What story am I trying to tell?’
I believe good designers flourish, meaning solving a problem and telling a good story, within the limits that they are given. Whether it be time, budget, pressure, format, or client demands, there are always outside forces impacting the design process. My job is to see the task outside the boundary of those limits and deliver the best story regardless of those limits.
I am passionate about creating things, enjoying life, spending time with my wife and family, food, music, and striving to be the best I can be.
